What are the settings to take night shots on my A40?

Erm....before I can answer your question............how slow can your A40 go in terms of shutter speed on manual?
If you are zoomed at 3X, then the aperture is F4.8 or F14. At F14, it might be too dark, even at 15s exposure.
If not zoomed, aperture can be either F2.8 or F8.
So far, I've had decent results with F2.8 and exposure of 2s with ISO50. Depends how bright the subjects are.

Yeah 2 secs at f2.8 is the same as 8 secs at f8 at iso 50. Personally, I would like to have more DOF.
