#1, would be good to have a clear reflection but if you want something
of your type.. try to hv the main subject to be a tad clear.. Find it a tad grainy..
The composition could be improved by leaving unwanted elements such as
the dark building corner.
Somehow it doesnt work very well for me in this pix.. try again

#2
Good concept but you might want to capture the right moment to have
a clear silh image. In this case , the image of the first person merged with
that of the second making, it not attractive to viewer.
Compositon:- maybe let the person move downward a few steps before
you capture it.

Just my comment.
:)

1st pic is blur, u should use manual focus to focus on the building and give a sharper representation. Composition is rather empty on the 3 corners but congested on 1 side, i'd rather shift the cam or maybe add more water to fill up the picture frame. u can always add to show than to see & shoot.

2nd pic doesn't work cos your silouette consist of 2 subject, so it look very weird esp there is no distinction of both of them and also the background.

1st pict has potential, try rotating 180 deg. kinder to the eye

Thanks guys for the comments .... :)

Hosea: I dunno why the photo turn out to be grainy leh .... I use ISO 400 only

Del_CtrlnoAlt: So you mean it may look better if all the pic is cover with water? What I want to show is the contrast of the road and the building in the reflection.
I do agree that the reflection is not sharp enough.

For the second pics, I will try again to have only one person in the frame.

actually depends on the feel of the picture, your picture lacks details so more water to show more of the building is necessary.

i got 1 shot here, taken long ago when i was still a noob (still am actually), its also a water reflection. think taken with a 17mm, and too bad i din know how to set aperture then. so couldn't do much about the reflected light. just sharing.

different topic thread? care to elaborate?

anyway what's not written inside the guidelines but will probably be allowed* is the posting of a single work that consist of a series of pictures. a series to be seen as a single piece of work meaning

1. an event coverage (complete with text and explanation in proper sequence)
2. a photo essay (with proper explanation where needed)

or any others that require the pictures to be read and critique as a single whole.

*probably be allowed since no one has done it yet.

oh ... what i mean is I thought I can post in 2 different places eg one at critique corner and the other at abstract/still life.
and my interpretation for the guidelines is no 2 threads to be posted in critique corner or 2 threads in abstract/still life.
