Hi everyone, my friend has asked me to stand in to help take candid shots of her guests , during her wedding next week.

I currently have a 35mm prime f1.8, 18-55mm kit nikon and a 28-70 f2.8 sigma.

I'm planning to use my 35mm most of the time i guess, cause of low light and bring along the 28-70 sigma ( old lens ) just in case.

Any other issues or gear i should take note of ? or bring along ?

A flash would serve you well

For candids, perhaps a longer focal length would be more suitable. 50mm on DX quite good :)

Personally, I prefer 28-70 + an ext flash..

Oooh... i dun have a 50mm prime.... i like my sigma 28-70mm.... but its more for film cameras, so the colour contrast might be a problem.... will have to make some adjustments on com .....

gosh... i dun have a ext flash as well.... faints....

you definitely need a flash unless you go wide aperture - something like f1.2, but chances are you will blow your ISO too.

70-200mm VR2 with a flash.

Just make do with your on body flash. Thou I think you need to diy a diffuser or buy one.

Will the diffuser help ?

I'm afraid might still be too flashy thou i have one....

Thanks !

Oh , as in , will the flash be still too strong ??

if you really need a diffuser, just get a simple pop-up one will do.

still, it will be better to have an external flash because you can direct the flash head to bounce the light off different surfaces to create diffused light for the subject.
