Hi Fellow Friends...

Doing up a wedding banquet next week...

Going to borrow a lens but im not sure which one though...

Is the 17-55mm a good choice?
or either the 11-16 Tokina a preferable one?

Its going to be a normal bright light up restaurant...

Jus need one lens that could cover most of it...

Hope you could help me out..N using 500D at the moment..

17-55 is good enough. 11-16 may cause distortion to the body of the human subjects u take at its widest focal length (at 11mm).

You will probably need a flash as well even though its brightly lit.

Please try a search for "lens for wedding". What you are asking for comes up about twice a week.

17-55 is one lens that can covered most of the needs on tt day :)

actually, why still need a flash since it is brightly lit, always see photgraphers use flash in bright daylight, why huh?

I'll take the 17-55mm.

Thanks a lot for the input...

Will most probably take the 17-55mm i guess..
thank you so much....

Flash are normally used as filled in lighting in brightly lit area... a must...
