Weatherproof flash box

Jan 9, 2006
This is a weatherproof or rainproof flash box with flash shoot through umbrella holder. It is at least 15 years old.
How to make your own:
Box is bought from Daiso. Select one that fits your flash.
The bottom part is from an umbrella holder that can fit a lightstand.
Drill four holes to fix with screws and bolts to fix the box to the bottom.
You can line the box with packing cushioning material to protect the flash from impacts but it is optional.
Secure the box cover with rubber bands to prevent the flash falling out. If you want to build totally waterproof submersible flash boxes, be aware that flash radio trigger signals cannot travel in water. If you do, trigger your flash optically using S1 single flash detection mode.
This box can hold a Yongnuo YN 560III flash and is triggered with a YN 560Tx transmitter that controls flash power and zoom.
