can we just use a white A4 paper to set WB?

then the next question comes up
why ppl want to go buy a grey card, if they can use some a4 paper, some card board to make a DIY card for WB?

Maybe A4 is not 100% white.. ;p

can i use my printer to print a grey card?
my guess is i can, but it wun be 100% accurate?

Grey card can also use for spot metering.

You can print the same shade of grey on your printer, but the reflectivity of your paper will be different from the 'standard' grey card and may give you different readings when direct light source is shining on it.

ah yes, for spot metering... you got that one spot on... pun intended. cant do that on a white card.

There are some alternatives.
If you do some searches on google, you'll be able to find people experimenting with the white Pringles lids and coffee filters.

From what I have read is that 2 coffeefilters in front of your lens gets a result very close to grey cards and expodisc. Just looks kinda funny
