Wat is IR?

Hi guys,
1)wat is IR?
2)and how do u guys get the frame around the photo to make it like a postcard?
3)i have tried to upload my pic to the gallery but image seem to compromise due to lowering of image size.. how can i retain the image quality?
pls advise ... really new to these

Infrared photography..

Google it. It involves placing a filter which cuts off most visible light, except for those in the NEAR-INFRARED spectrum, giving pretty cool effects. Some include glowing foilage, black water which is uber reflective.. The list goes on. Better for you to discover through the net.. This is just a short synopsis, hehe.

For framing, it's simple, just play around with Canvas Size in Photoshop.

What is your camera? Not all cameras are good for IR.

It can do IR, but not ideal.
Long exposure and setting WB is quite difficult.

With some modification, yeah

With some modification, yeah

That modification may void your camera warranty (or even worst, spoil your camera), and mod camera for IR may not good for normal taking picture.

Just my guessing as I am not into IR photography.

Yah..., true. D80 is too good for IR modification. D40 may suit for IR purpose modification.

buy a used D70 to modify, cheap cheap only.

D40 can shoot IR ar... :think: sound good :bsmilie:

The Cokin P007 is usable for IR.
If you are doing coloured IR, the colour will be more saturated.
