Singers Gary Cao & Justin Lo in drunken street brawl
Posted: 25 September 2009 1511 hrs
HONG KONG : An intoxicated Gary Cao got into a fight not once, but twice in one night with good friend Hong Kong singer-songwriter Justin Lo.
According to media reports, the first incident occurred outside a bar in the Central district. The singers then took a taxi to Harcourt Road where another fight erupted.
Photographs and video footage of the two exchanging blows can be seen on the Internet.
This public spat has upset fans and the two have been blamed for being poor role models for youths. Some have even accused Cao for being an irresponsible father.
Cao went to a pub with Lo and some friends during the wee hours of Wednesday morning, said reports. After several drinks, the Malaysian-born Cao left and was soon seen exchanging words and fists with Lo.
Hong Kongs Oriental Daily News reported that Cao punched Lo, 33, until he collapsed on the side of the road.
The pair, along with two male friends, then left in a taxi but the ride stopped short when the Malaysian singer apparently got out and yelled at the passengers inside not before kicking one of them believed to be Lo.
A furious-looking Cao then brandished a road sign and seemed like he was ready to attack Lo when he was intervened by another friend. After talking for several minutes, the group dispersed and the singers went their separate ways.
Cao, 30, and Lo, better known as Zak Tin, are known to be good friends while the latter is the godfather of Cao's one-year-old son. Denying that they were both drunk when the incidents occurred, Lo maintained that he was not injured despite receiving several blows.
