May I ask for recommendation for UV filters? I just bought my D80 with 18-135mm. I will be getting a Sigma 30mm f1.4 prime and Nikon 50mm f1.8 prime.

What should be the sizes to buy for these lenses?

What brand or type of UV filter to get if I am on a budget but at the same time don't want to sacrifice photo quality?

What prices should I expect to pay? Worried ganna chop. Thanx!

You can get them easily off the web

62mm for the Sigma 30mm/1.4
52mm for the 50mm/1.8

I assume you are using UV filters for lens protection. The thing about cheaper vs more expensive filters. The degradation might not be so markedly obvious, although poor coatings can cause more obvious flares.

Thanx guys, I appreciate much.

Hoya Pro1 Digital.

I find the cheap plain glass types tend to fog up easily, even if you just leave them in the dry cab.

Ok, I will get the Hoya HMC or SHMCs. Thanx.

Yes! Hoya Pro1 Digital are good. The Protector series are cheaper than UV though.
If you have more budget got for Nikon NC filters.

Whats the difference between Protector and UV to DSLR?

Function wise, the clear filters and UV filters protect the front elements of the lens.
