Dear Friends,
I am from across the causeway.

Been actively re-engaged in photography for more than half a year.
Didn't do much post production of the photos I shot, as I am a linux user, the choices of software available are limited.

so far tried using F-spot, UFRaw, GIMP. but my old PC little SLOWwwww......

then I Read this blog
"Using Linux for Photography, Can we make it better?"
http://jcornuz.wordpress.com/2009/03...ake-it-better/

decided to buy a new PC, (huge RAM & good grahpic card) will load Ubuntu and try using and testing some of the software available. hopefully we can help to make it better too.

Been trying to start a discussion and sharing going in local photography forum.
Can anyone in Singapore share your experience on photography with linux as darkroom?? thanks.

Linux Rules ok!!

so as a linux user, do you usually do dual-boot or you have a separate PC just running ubuntu?

Hi,

I started a few years back dual booting.
cos of my Palm PDA and some games.
now I am completely on Linux.
EeeBuntu on my EEEpc, Xubuntu in office, probably ubuntu on my newly-acquired but not set up PC (for photo processing...:))

Actually,

easy downloading and upgrading is in fact linux most attractive feature.
no need to shut down or pay for upgrade.
good luck.
