User Review of Olympus m.Zuiko Digital 17mm F1.2 PRO lens

As of this writing, there is no official pricing for this lens but it should not be too big a difference from both the M.Zuiko Digital 25mm f1.2 PRO and M.Zuiko Digital 45mm f1.2 PRO.

Having used this lens for the past 2 weeks plus, I am once again falling in love with the focal length and the large aperture changes my shooting style. Will I purchase this lens? Most definitely, I'm just waiting for it to be released. Would I recommend others to buy? If you can afford it and prefer the 35mm equivalent FOV instead of the 50mm equivalent FOV.

Which would I recommend? The 25 or the 17? It really depends on your shooting style, I see the world wide than the 50mm gives me, so I will go for the 17 instead of the 25.

This lens is sharp wide open, not heavy despite its size and not very attention grabbing when shooting. It's built with the same solid feel the rest of the PRO series of lenses have focusing is fast and silent, it definitely has a space in my bag for work and for fun. I look forward to owning my own piece in the new year

Hope this can help you decide on the 1.2 ;)

I scare wait front heavy. I am using an aging E-PL3 not OM-D leh....
the 7-14mm f/2,8 make the balance weird....

shall consider again. Thanks for the great review!

I just mounted it on my old E-P1 and it does feel a little bit front heavy :bsmilie:

the starburst rivals (or better) that of the Pana 12/1.4 summilux, i believe at F4/5.6 you start to see some already.
