Thinking of getting another one for my work place. Those selling at SLS can use or not? How much does it cost?

I haven't found one shop selling 3rd party cable. The other end of the cable is different (special for DC, I guest). I always bring my cable along with my camera and lenses. It wont take much space in my camera bag.

the smaller end is called a mini-usb. Its quite common actually. Some MP3 players use it too.

It's a matter of preference.....some ppl think that using the DC to d/l the pix will strain the DC....others don't think so.

Wow $38 is rather expensive! I prefer using the USB cable as its alot more portable than a SM reader. Also I feel constantly pulling out and insert in the SM would have a higher chance of spoiling the SM/camera.

38 for a cable _IS_ daylight robbery - and evening and night too!

i got a 5-in-1 card-reader last week in HK - cost me roughly S$30. Pretty happy with its performance so far and i don't have to drain battery power by having my DC on while i upload the images either....

Yup...better off buying an USB SM card reader instead.
