Upgrading my SLR to DSLR to use Sigma 28mm

Yo people,

I have a Nikon FE 10 that uses my favorite Sigma 28mm F1.8 II Aspherical Lens. Its an old lens but I manage to get an image for reference:

Ok now, I like to get it working with a DSLR. Will it work with a Nikon D80? I'm looking at the Canon 450D, will this lens work with an adapter that I hear is available for Canon bodies mounting Nikon lens?

Am I committing heresy for even suggesting the 2 together ?
