(A) Patents application 2011-113052 is for a 50mm f/1.2 lens (the patent describes also a f/2 version).

I think this one is long-awaited for Nikon 50mm lovers, but it won't be cheap I think.

(B) Patent for a new Nikon 105mm f/2 lens appeared in the JPO (Japan Patent Office):

I look forward to a AFS 135mm f/2 or f/1.8 VRII instead. It should be possible in near future after the release of the AFS 105mm f/2 VRII.

love to see those lens coming.
but hate to see the prices. :bsmilie:

F/2 with VRII, one step advance in design.

hmm, don't they already have a f/2 VRII?, the 200mm f/2 VR II

given its a 105, and not very heavy, and also mainly used for portraits. I wonder if most would really need the VR
Personally I hope for a new 105 w/o DC and w/o VR. :bsmilie: , but doubt it will happen

the new 105 f2 is a replacement for the 105 f2 DC?

Wow... Amazing! I'm pretty sure the price will be amazing too. The latter for the wrong reasons...

Yeah, I think the new 105mm VRII and the possible 135mm VRII will be going to replace the 20-year-old 105 and 135 DC.

I hope no nano coating for 50mm f1.2 else the price sure above 2k..

I guess we can take Canon's 50mm f1.2 as a guide.
Maybe with 1 more piece of diaphragm blade, it may cost more than Canon's.. :bsmilie:

If the AFS 50 f1.2 has no nano coating, the price also sure above 2k.
Can't be you are expecting it to go below 2k.

Actually, this is only filing design patent for legal rights isn't it?

The actual lens will only be produced in, like, 3 to 4 years later?
I'm so sorry, was waiting too long for Nikon's other product to come sooner... like the D800....

A 50mm f1.2G Nano will be that last gem i've been waiting for.

Hopefully it will be better than the 50 f1.2L. And honestly it better be since the 50 f1.2L is not a lens without flaws.

D700 is abt 3 +yr old only, need more time. To add features to future d800.

By then the 50L II might be out already

they could file as much patents as they like...

No matter how it will be priced, it will surely be snapped in a heartbeat.
The pent up angst of Nikon users craving for their 1.2s ..

A Nikon AFS 85f1.2 will be more interesting though.
