other than Howard Schatz, does anyone have an interest in doing underwater modelling, or has a private pool to try this out?

From Howard's site:

eh, i think we have to first look for a model lor. all the models who-and-who can provide, i doubt they would do anything like this - holding breath, NO GOGGLES nor MASK underwater... anyway, no need for no-tile pools, private home pool would be best to keep out sneaky eyes :nono:

alternatively, check this site out - it's by a finnish professor!

i have seen such photos before.. but erm.. i think the ones i have seen are of more artistic and better taste.. sorry ah, i just feel that the ones linked to this thread are not so... so ... class....

i try to find the ones i saw la... i think more artistic, dance type of graceful gestures and movements.. and clothings...

the photog used a very big piece of cloth as background, partly to cover the tiles, and also enhance the feeling of wave and motion.

beivied, you want to be our model? cannot use BCD all that one hor... :bsmilie:

may i choose to pull out from the trip then? i'd rather see the actual whale shark.... :ipuke:

really, does anyone know of any models who can take this kind of photos?

(^#!*&^(^&#*!^(!@^(!@..... ;(

anyway :D as long as you have a nice looking enough model who can swim, and you can provide costume thats ok with some heavily chlorinated water, why not, why not at all?? :)

i think you better pm him .... dont think he reads this thread, haha...

i would suggest that the model wears some flowy clothes... to create the water motion feel ...

me still trying to find the photos ... :(

damn nice.. the shots are incredible man

Wah I also piang, you guys are more advertureous then me. Last time I could only think of shooting models in a cruise, or in a fish farm.

But let me try, nothing is impossible, really.....

ya i think i saw better ones b4, the concept and style is coolz.
but to those who intended to try,
do take note tat you need a number of power lights to shoot through the water. 1 or 2 x 1500watts lights would not be enough.
and then, if i am not wrong, it is not normal water(or water w chorine for tat matter). those "water" dun come cheap if my memory dun fail me. (not to mention you need to fill a pool)

anywei i am not into this kinda thingy so my info might be wrong anywei...=p
cheerz.

hmm, thats chim .. someone get some info leh .. i really cant find the photos, so sad...

nothing is impossible, but a model who can hold the breath AND pose underwater for say, 30 seconds in the pool X how many times to pose etc, may be a bit more challenging. damned terok to hold breath etc - try it in the pool yourself submerging at 1.5+ m depth and repeat, really tiring one.... :p

not only how long the model can hold breath ... swimming patterns must be nice hor... and within that short time, how many frames can the photog(s) can get, and how many good shots come out of it ... will have to be a whole day thing lo .. and lighting leh, lighting from underwater leh... dun tell me need strobes ah?

Ok here comes the serious thingie. (I am not a diver so these Qs may seem easy for you guys but difficult for me to understand)

Q1: I presume the model will wear bikini or T-shirt, not naked right?
Q2: Will the model submerge totally inside the water or swim on the water?
Q3: Will the photog and the camera be inside the water or outside & above the water?
Q4: Assuming I can get the model and the private swimming pool, what should I do with the light? Or you guys will use giant torch light or underwater flash?

More later, need to think.....
