1. Lenses - bet. nikon and canon, which is more expensive?
2. Which one has a better resale value in body and lenses?
3. Which service ctr more friendlier?

Thks in advance.

See which person/expert you are asking.

different ppl have different taste, does not mean few person's reply represent the whole.
Got it???

Agree.....

To TS..... a better suggestion would be to find out which brand is your friends using..... because then you could share stuff.

Btw... you can't go wrong with any of the major brands.

Glad I could be of help.

To some, Canon is better, and to some others, Nikon is better. But overall, they're not that much different, at least from my so called "unbiased" point of view as a non Canon/Nikon user. As many have pointed out, it's you as the photographer that matters the most. Also you may want to take a look at other "lesser" brands as well. They may have something the two big boys don't.

Btw, D90 is a league above 450D, so comparing the two is abit unfair to Canon. :)

I think what jlkk76 said is very right.
You have to try it out yourself,
what matters is your choice.
Others' opinion is only an advise.
Hope you get "enlightened" when you try the D90 tomorrow then :)

I sincerely agree with catchlights.
After all they are the top brands of the photographic business isn't it?
The only way we can go from here is up ain't it?

as much as how ironic this may sound, i suggest u make the decision urself based on ur own biasness. its almost impossible to get unbiased opinions here, becoz each and everyone of us already have some level of biasness in us. its not a bad thing, its just a natural thing.

my unbiased opinion is:

1) depends on what you're going for
2) depends on model and lens
3) depends on the staff in the centre at that time.

in short, all depends.

C-A-N-O-N
2+2+6+6+6 = 2+2 = 4

N-I-K-O-N
6+4+5+6+6 = 2+7 = 9

So you prefer Number 4 or Number 9........?

I choose 9 because i don't like 4. :)

IMHO, there is no such thing as unbias opinion.
Anyway, I won't bother about technicality, as in some part of this technology race, either brand will overtake each other once in a while. If you invest in lens in the future, you will even be less likely to switch system.
So I'll place design and my friend's eco system higher than capabilities.
Design of the camera, and placement of the buttons won't change too much, as each brand needs to maintain for their users familarity as new model comes up. So you need to try the cam to know u like it or not.. I prefer Nikon's placement. Friend's eco system will also determine if u can borrow their lens to try or use for certain occasion, also depends on whether ur friends are those willing to lend...

Both are as good... the problem is u ask Nikon user, they will say Nikon better. U ask Canon user, they will say Canon better.. go to the shop and molest/touch/drool on each of the model within your budget and go with what you will bring out to shoot. Sometime... believe in "love at first sight" or in this case touch.. :sweatsm:

Also.. do not put the other brands aside.. olympus, Sony..... look at those too.
