Hi there which lens for Canon dSLR is ultimate for wide angle?
im interested in wide angle as i can shoot wide w/o having to pano for some shots.
However there's some 10-28mm lens range as per Canon's guide as well as a Fisheye lens.
Is a fisheye lens suitable for shooting xtra wide angle shot?
Will there be distortion in the middle for fisheye?

huh widescreen?
you mean wide angle
Canon's 10-22 is the widest you can get for a cropped camera ie. 400D,20D,30D etc
you can get wide angles with fisheye too but its a FISHEYE lens
there will be distortion
do a search for fisheye and you'll see

Sorry i do mean wide angle.
Will there be any diff between a wide angle lens and a FE?
Im thinking of FE as just a wide angle lens and nothing else.

wide angle and fish eyes are totally different

Fish eye give a cetain effect which can be created digitally while a picture taken with a fish eye cannot be corrected so if yure interested, get a wide angle and then distort the picture digitally!

EFS 10-22mm is the widest WA lens that Canon has but there may be distortions near the edge. The widest rectilinear zoom is sigma 12-24mm.

For 1.6x I think 10-22 is better. At 12mm the barrel distortion is about the same as Sigma 12-24, and you get 10mm widest, plus it's lighter: 400g vs 600g

There are defish algorithms available.
