In an effort to clarify Lithium battery transport rules that came into effect January 1, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has revised a recent press release. The new version of the release makes it clear that any number of typical digital SLR and notebook Lithium-Ion batteries are allowed in carry-ons as long as they're stored in a way that prevents short-circuiting, while checked baggage can contain Lithium-Ion batteries only if they're inserted in the device they're meant to power.
