I was among the crowd that paid tribute to Mr Lee Kuan Yew outside the Istana and at Parliament House yesterday. We stood shoulder-to-shoulder to send off the man who made us who we are today. The queue was long and the heat and humidity were hard to bear. Yet, no tempers flared in the 8-hours long queue into Parliament House. I saw Ministers escorting families with elderly and children onto the express lane. Those who were there swapped their usual shorts and slippers for more appropriate attires of solemn black and white to honor our Founding Father. There were silent tears but no hysteria. Acts of kindness from nearby business establishments which provided free drinks, snacks, chairs and even white roses. I felt a great sense of pride being a Singaporean on this day. I experienced the First World Nation that is part of Mr Lee’s vision.

Just a simple tribute to my fellow Singaporeans as well as those who worked hand-in-hand with us to make this tiny Nation great .

wa, the public sentiment on the ground is very good.
there is no better time to call for an exxxxx, if it is appropriate.

Mr Lee Kuan Yew's death has brought out the best in Singaporeans.
He would have been proud and happy.

Having queued for the parliament house, visited community sites and driven through the heavy down pour seeing endless line of people waiting for his final drive-pass....
I wonder if Mr Lee when alive knew how much the people love and respect him, i surely hope he does.

I was standing across Clifford Pier yesterday. The rain was hard and the wind bitting. Many people could have just stand under shelters in the building but they chose to brave the elements.
It was a very emotional moment for me. The spirit of the 1968 NDP is well and alive.

Although many Singaporeans dislike some of the government policies.
Singaporeans will still give credit where credit is due.

The greatest wayang ever?
Or is it herd instinct/behaviour?
The typical Singaporean kiasu mentality?
Whatever it is, to the outside world, Singaporeans have demonstrated solidarity.
