Do you know how to use DSLR in the first place?

If not, just bring PnS. You will get nice landscape pics with PnS.

think u can buy a 2nd hand cam body 40D with UWA tokina 12-24 or sigma 10-20, still has enough to get another telephoto or prime lens.

but prob is, do u wan to carry so many things for a trip? its pretty heavy for such a set up....if u don mind, then get a tripod too...might come in handy

40D is better than 400D right ?

where to get 2nd hand ?

UWA tokina 12-24mm lense .. how much will that cost ?

What is the meaning of prime lens ? cost ?

I also going Tibet (26/7 to 9/8), 9 of us (mostly CSers) Want to join me? You may email me at luosangjian@yahoo.com.sg if ineterested.

Buy and sell in clubsnap???

actually for a wide angle cam..u can look ard clubsnap buy and sell as well..

to be frank..its better to do abit of research on the models u need..and the lens before jumping into them

OIC, me also Tibetan Buddhist:) Enjoy your trip.... towards enlightenment;)

If there is a pair of you, I strongly agree with bringing 2 cameras. If one fails, then you have a backup.

I think it depends on 2 things: your standards for picture quality and your tolerance for portability and complexity.

If it was me, I'm there to enjoy my holiday. Not fiddle with multiple lenses. I would bring a Panasonic Lumix TZ7 and Canon G10. Cos, I have high tolerance for botched pics.

Budget is inconsequential! Your trip will be remembered long after the price of the camera is forgotten.

I think http://www.dcresource.com can show you the cameras with great galleries. See which type of photo you shoot matches which camera.

do you even understand how Canon ranks it's camera models?

where to get 2nd hand ?

Clubsnap has a buy and sell...

Clubsnap does have lens price listings. and you can call/visit a shop on your own.

Ever hear of google?

Please lah, stop asking to be spoonfed. Do some research on your own!!!!

But, judging by how you seem to be missing some very basic fundamentals, i suggest just bringing a PnS camera.

which part of tibet as be forewarned that not all parts have electricity.

what i recommend is either a dslr with AA grip or AA powered point and shoot since AA batteries for some reason are available at most stops.

read up on Landscape Photography and more or less you will know what to do.

*Just me but unless you want to play with dslr`s DoF, a PNS like the LZ8 actually will do.

Based on your knowledge, go with a PnS. Less hassle. Enjoy your trip!
