Hi,

I am doing some research for CNY traveling trip. Not so keen on Indonesia, Vietnam or Cambodia but still on a Budget. Looking at India (Been to Nepal).

1) Can someone advice/ share information on other recommendations pls? Preferably less than SGD 1,500 to 2,000

2) Any other fellow photographers interested to help/go, do let me know. Thanks.

Hi!

Philippines is a very big country... so u myt ask urself first what ur interests are..

like if u r more on nature/beaches, boracay, palawan, cebu, bohol are the most popular, but also have a lot of unspoiled beaches/islands like the caramoan peninsula (where the survivor french was shot).

if u r into mountains/ethnic groups, u myt want to check out banaue/sagada (upper region) or davao (lower region)

for urbanscape, manila and cebu are the 2 main city.

u myt also want to check if there are ongoing fiestas (feasts) on the place that ur going so u can undertand or enjoy more of the culture..

just do alot or research and try to book in advance ur lodging/hotel and ur transportation.. like what ive said philippines is a very big country, it may take u number of days to get to a lot of places..

btw, there a also not-the-typical travel agencies where they can arrange ur trip for you like this one... http://thetravelfactor.multiply.com/

ur check out this site for more info. http://www.tourism.gov.ph/

hope u enjoy ur trip!!!!! and take lots of pictures!!!

btw, today is the rainy season in the Phils, so it myt not be a good time to visit, december, february or april might be better..

hope this helps! and MABUHAY!!!!! ;)

Hi Dranleb,

thanks for your info. It certainly helps. Dont mind, i ask more questions fr time to time.

also, just an update. I fell and now i am a bit semi-paralaze. Have to monitor my conditions the next few weeks... Urrrggghhh! Dammit!

I hope to recover by CNY to go somewhere!

Hmmm perhaps you can try Bhutan?

Its one of the places less travelled. Just read up on the place in the ST Life! Section not too long ago...

i think tourist tariff is something like US$200-300 per day, which means that S$2k at the rate of 1.5 and US$200 per day can only last him 6 days, minus off 1 day to and 1 day fro, that is only 4 days. another 3 more decent days will cost another S$1k.

why not bali?

nice scenery, beaches n people..

2k can set u 14days there..including food,accomadation n party.. plus sight seeing...

cheers
