Hi
can anyone please help... when we use the DOF calculator we can find out the Hyperfocal distance, Near limit of acceptable sharpness, Far limit of acceptable sharpness & Total depth of field.
What is the use of the total depth of field figure or we can just ignore it? I mostly interested in shooting Portraits. :)

Many Thanks

if u shoot potraits, high chance u can jus ignore hyperfocus distance and keep focus on the subjects eyes.

most potrait photos look better w shallow DOF, unless u are trying to create environmental potraits (showing the subject in relation to his/her surroundings).

Thank U!

Total depth of field = Far limit - Near Limit.
