Tonal Curves...

I am wondering whether do any of you use Tonal Curves for your DSLRs? If you do, please do share why do you use them.

Also would appreciate if you could share on how do you set tonal curves on your DSLR if yours have the ability to use them.

i am still experimenting with the custom curves on the 1D..mainly to get a more accurate "out of the camera" colours and to get less contrasy images; since my past experiences with d30 and 10d "out of the camera" colours is that both are very contrasty and have greenish jpegs which require working upon in PS which means wastng a lot of time on it. if my experiments with the custom curves on the 1D are successful then i will mean a great reduction of post processing effort
