Tokyo Trip - Any thing cheap to get from there??

Hi Guys,

i will be heading to Tokyo in Dec... (1st time)

Is there any good items i should get while i am on the trip? like lens or accessories...??

if you could recommend me the place to buy such items... it would be good...

You could consider dropping to Akihabara. There are lot of Electronics Shops over there.

from my research, I do not think so... Please keep in mind that Yen is 'strong' now

You may like to keep a look out for electronic products that are only released in Japan (e.g Bluray HDD recorders). But do bear in mind that their power supply is 110V, TV standard is NTSC, and manual is all in Jap. Sigh...

And in Akihabara, also look out for sale items which are marked very low to clear stock. E.g. I got a 4GB micro SD for about SGD10 last yr, and also a 6X external Blu ray burner for SG300 last yr.

I know this is irrelevant, but plastic models are also really much cheaper there. Gundam models are about 40% cheaper.

You should also visit Tokyu Hands (there are several outlets within Tokyo). Lots of interesting stuff/gadgets you'll love to buy back (not cheap)

The Daiso there is also cheaper than in SG. 100 yen per item = abt SGD1.55
