spidic: are the prices of the streetvendors @ the parks during hanami 'tourist prices' or reasonable ones ?

most of the time, i find them more ex... cos the portion is usually smaller than outside (shrink by almost half) but u still have to pay normal price!

For Japan a good quide for budgetting besides buying the JR pass (whichever ver you choose) and the accomodation cost:

Meals: 1,000 Yen/pax/meal
Sight admission: 500-1500 Yen/pax/day
Local Travel: 500-700 Yen/pax/day

There should be some leftovers for nick-nack purchases!

I'm spending almost $30-$40 sgd everyday here.. That only covers travel and meals :/

Did a 9-day Spring trip to Kyushu a year ago, excluding airfare, prebooked hotels and JR Pass, for 2 adults, we spent 42,000 Yen on site.

Japan is not cheap but the cost can be managed.

I am planning on purchasing a day trip to either Mount Fuji or Nikko while in Tokyo Japan. Is it a good idea? Anyone with experience to share.

1 day in Kyoto? I went to Kyoto for 7 days in 2010 and returned in 2011 for another 7 days. Tokyo maybe 1-2 days and the rest Kyoto better.
