Anyone has experience wif this lens?
IQ? AF speed? Detail?

Tokina 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 AT-X AF-II

Price?

Hi,

These are what "Digiphoto" Taiwan edition magazine says about the lens:

1. Solidly built
2. Prone to flare
3. Not easy to shoot handheld, best used with tripod
4. AF speed a little slow
5. Good color rendition and saturation
6. requires a lot from the photographer in terms of know-how to shoot good photos
7. the cheapest lens compared to camera brand lenses of the same range

that's all I could remember now.

Hey nic, thanks for sharing.
Apparently quite sharp, but as u mentioned, af slightly slower. But dealers dun stock it any more: they prefer to sell the bigmas and the 150-500 as more pp buying, and I noticed they also marked up the price for those 2 sigmas, previously selling 1600 & 1800 last yr, but now they increased it $50 bucks and $100 bucks respectively. Time to boycott.
Maybe try internet purchase or via Hong Kong.
