New wide and fast lens by tokina. Have any bro tried this. Any review/comment to share?

Appreciate sharing if any bro has experience with this new launch lens. Cathay quote $1k+ this lens...

Im also keen on this lens... Anyone had hands on this lens already?

@fdfoo: i'm planning to get my hands on this baby soon. or i have to do a review for this lens then. hahaha... there is no english versions online yet. but i can tell, it is going to be an awesome wide lense especially for APS-C Sensors. f/2.0 and a slight zoom.

~Cheers

Hi fdfoo,

I have gotten my hands on this lense. I must say, it is really just awesome.

Please note that this was tested on Canon EOS M3, w/ EF mount adapter

Pros:
- Zoom and the clutch focus ring feels smooth
- Super quick focus and locking on focus
- Build quality
- Stunning picture quality
- Zooming in & out w/o any effort or more than 90°

Cons:
- Heavy for a wide angle lense
- Length feels a little long
- Noisy focus motor

I'm in the midst of doing a unboxing and a small review of the lense. so hope it will help :)

Regards,

Never used it before but my experience with the Nikon 12-24 F4 suggests that its an awesome lens to bring for wide angle close up cityscape photography. Size is there but the image quality is top notch.
Shoot more!

I usually check on dxomark. It is the sharpest of the lot for apsc.

If image quality and sharpness is what you are looking for, its stands out from the rest for sure.

@saket411: sweet! Thats awesome to hear. Yeah super sharp lense! But it will be super down if one were to go towards full-frame again lo.

Other than that, aps-c ftw for now.
