Tit for tat SIN-JB entry fee

both works hand in hand to get more money???

Very possible.
Just a phone call is enough to initiate and make that happen.

Both can smell the cash register ringing non-stop.

I think they should just close both causeways and call it a day. Why waste so much taxpayers' money?
Seems like both don't like people going out or coming in.

Today coming back from JB, at Spore customs, 4 out of 16 lanes were opened on the right portion of the tuas checkpoint.

4 OUT OF 16.

THE JAM WAS 1.5 HOURS. AND NOT FREE!

ya, agree. this is the thing that pissed me off the most. Got so many lanes but only open few.:angry::angry:

frankly, i don't mind paying the extra $ if they were to open all the lanes to make traffic smooth as silk.

Malaysian buses are on strike this morning near CIQ in protests of the first day fees increase.

I salute the Malaysian bus drivers for their brave action. This is the only action so far to show the unhappiness to both governments who are so intent on screwing their own citizens and/or the other country's citizens.

Prices of everything we need from across the Causeway will go up.

Agreed.
But I doubt the efficiency at the customs will improve even with the toll increase.
They just wanna deter people from moving in and out with the increased costs, bottomline.
I forsee more carpools and more taking buses across.

I think in Malaysia, workers have the right to strike. But this case is not an industrial dispute, it is striking against a government requirement.

today at 11+am...ONLY half the Tuas checkpoint counters were opened DESPITE THE NEW VEP.

the jam was almost 1km.

As expected, services have not improved despite the hike.
If u have to come in, u have to come in. Seems like they already know it.

The fee has nothing to do with improving clearance time or anything related to the causeways. It's money for a different department, not for maintenance, not for CIQ personnel costs , not for operating costs or whatever improvements you can dream up.

Don't expect any returns from the monies being paid, means jams will not change, just more money out of your pockets - nothing else.
