Tips on Photo Editing ( photoshop/lightroom)

Hi, i've been taking portrait photographs for awhile. I dont normally touch any photo editing software. However i noticed quite a few people using crops to make an ordinary photo look great

anyone care to share more about when crops can be used?

and what other stuff do you mess with usually? saturation? Curves?

Depends what type of crops.
I find wheat and cotton especially good for photography

Hehehe jokes aside, you crop to achieve the intended composition. Sometimes there are distracting elements best removed. But if you need to crop heavily most times, maybe need to think properly at time of image capture
