Hi,

I recently discovered that my 20~35mm Nikon lens has a tiny dot inside and was wondering if there is anyway I could clean it off? If I leave it alone, will it grow? I stored all my lens and camera inside a dry cabinet with a setting of 44%RH. Should I send it back to Nikon for cleaning (assuming that they can do it) or camera hospital?

Thanks in advance for any advice offer.

Don't leave it alone send to nikon to clean it.

Get it cleaned soonest.

Alternatively, get the lens X-rayed under high power. Gamma rays have been known to kill fungal spores, so while the spot would still be there, it can't grow anymore. Doing so would also kill off any other spores that have yet to grow. Been there, done that - it works!

CHEERS!
