I know lots of Clubsnapers are hardcore techies so this might be an interesting subject for you. I am very frustated with the weak signal of my wireless network and looking for ways to boost it up. Has anyone of you try these? :bsmilie:

Any comment? Any future Sim Wong Hoo here see any business opportunity? ;)

soon there would be a company here selling a 40km range wireless LAN. They still under pre-production stage. I have seen the prototype.

Here's a solution that costs less than 5 bucks.

Get a Pringles can (finish the chips first of course), cut away the bottom and place it over your AP antenna. Aim your newly enclosed antenna at the direction you want to amplify the signal.

Done.

Hmm..
I've read this before, the can sorta redirects the transmission to another direction....works like a satelite dish?

But signals behind the can would be weak though...

Ok, one setup I can think of is to site the AP at a corner of your flat/room. Then instead of cutting the whole bottom off, cut only a hole with diameter enough to place the antenna in. This way you have maximum effect.
