Time Mode with optional IR Remote

Here's what written on Ken Rockwell's review of the D70:

"The D70 offers 30 seconds through 1/8,000 and BULB like many cameras. A trick is that there is a TIME mode if you use the optional infrared remote. TIME means that the shutter opens when you press the button and stays open until you press it again. This is fantastic for long exposures of minutes to hours, since you don't have to stand there holding it the whole time.

Time Mode

Pardon my ignorance, but I can't find this Time Mode on any of the D70 settings. I wish to try this out. Does it work with the ML-L3 remote? And how?
:embrass:

Appreciate any help on this.

Cheers

Just shift it into IR mode (burst mode dial), then shift it into manual, then shift the shutter all the way past 30s. It will show -- and viola. It'll mean it is in Bulb when not in IR control mode lor.

This is good for fireworks or even lighting if you want.

Hey thanx...

Will try it tonight. ;)

No problem. It should work with ML-L1 or 3, the camera doesn't care at all.
