Timberland shirt sizes

Hi people,

Just want to clear my doubts; should I say if I buy an American label short, say Timberland, I'd usually have to buy 1 size smaller as compared to the usual size which I get say for asian brands like Giordano?

For example, Asian size M -> American size S?

May be quite different...

I normally get Giordano M size. But in Timberland, I need to get XS.

be good if u can go down to timberland stores and note the sizes...

for asian t-shirt sizes, S - 38, M - 40, L - 42, XL - 44, XXL - 46, XXXL - 48, XXXL - 50, 4XL - 52, 5XL - 54

while u see the numericals, it denotes (eg Size L - 42), 21inches from left armpit to left armpit (front measuring)...
