Hi,

Following my prime lens poll, let's have some more fun. Out of the following prime lenses, which 3 will you take with you, on your chosen camera, if you can only take 3? Why?

Obviously, take into account your usual shooting subjects.

12, 14 fisheye, 14 rectilinear, 20, 24, 28, 35, 50,
50/55/60 macro, 70, 85, 105, 100/105/125 macro,
135, 180, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1200

Let's disregard maximum aperture for now.

Regards
CK

Mine at the moment: 35, 300, 800.

I would take 24, 50 and 180.

Cheers.

24, 50 macro and 105 macro

Why no one seems to answer this question? :D

For me, i will logically choose one wide, one standard and one tele

becos of the 1.6 FLM of D30, i will choose 12mm for landscape, 50mm macro for macro and protrait, and 300mm for super tele.

If I'm only allowed 3 prime lens, I'll take 28, 105 macro, 300. Shooting with film.

I am shooting film.

I wil take 20mm, 85mm and 180mm.

I would like to travel light. The total of these 3 lens will be abt 1.5kg.

The 85 will be my normal/potraits lens. 200m for wide angle and 180mm for tight crop. Can I add an ext tube and TC? (",)

Guess it'll depend on where i go and what i shoot. :D

On a tour, probably
20mm - Landscape shots (even for architecture if there's no distortion)
50mm - General photography (read: streetshots)
105mm - People shots

i'll walk the rest of the difference.

Hardly do macro/insects these days soo.. but i reckon it'll be another set of primes. Similiarly for sports..

Guess you can tell the type(s) of photography you're into by looking at the choice of your primes.
:D

thought long and hard about this... considering my usual photog subjects, i would bring...

24mm - for landscapes and my usual events stuff
50mm (f/1.4 if available *drool*) - for street stuff, also more events stuff
105mm micro - for macros, product shots, and portraits.

hey, just realised it's very similar to rochkoh! roch, we share similar taste in photog subjects huh... :D

Taken into consideration the FLM, I will carry the following:

20mm - Landscape and architecture
50mm - people and streets photos
105 Macro - Marco and portraiture
