i have a few questions for fellow strobist.

if i were to use a third party flash light for off-camera use will it affect my camera in aniway.
with the use of radio trigger.

or mayb if i use the third party flash as my 1 primary flash will it damage my camera.

wat are the factors of using a third party flash.??

please help.

thanks & cheers

Off cam, digital or analog flash units - NO.

ON CAM, analog flash units - Google 'safe flash trigger voltage' and look up data of the specific flash unit, and see if that's higher than what your camera specifies (e.g., some Canon cameras spec a 6V flash trigger limit).

How could off camera flash damage your camera? You need to take note that not all 3rd party flash can be used with 3rd party radio trigger. So is more of compatibility issue you need to check up on.

Also, ETTL or iTTL is not supported by 3rd party radio trigger except for pocket wizard.

Never heard of that happening. The only issue is compatibility.
