Spray paint for what?

Use tape to tape it up

No experience but the wet paint will jam the focusing ring other than losing all the markings. Airbrushing will be better.

Airbrush will also get the wet paint into the groove and focusing ring

You can ues Acrylic paint with air brush pen, you will need to strip the original paint and prime the surface first. Add a coat of clear glossy coating on top the paint, the paint and kits are availabe on scale moderling stores.
But it won't last very long if you want to use the lens. So the question is what is the propose of painting this lens?

1. Put the front and back caps on.

2. Dip the whole lens into a can of pink paint.

3. Dry it under the sun on newspapers or blow dry it if in a hurry.

4. Gather admiring glances from fellow photographers.

5. If the lens doesn't work sell it in B&S and buy a new one and repeat the whole process again.

Oh yes you may need to paint camera bag pink too to match.

for aesthetics purposes only
Unless you've very very skilled (as in, you spend all your free time working on scale models) you will make your lens look like a pink mess.
