about myself:
I bought D60 last year at April.
Was very pissed with 18-50 and was very reluctant to change lens every now and then.
So i wanted to get 18-135 (D80 kit lens), because that was one of the most affordable kit lens that time.
However, i find that I would like to push further the focal length as i am too used to a long zoom prosumer camera.
Considering that 18-135 doesnt have VR at all, that gave me more reason to get 18-200VRII, along with some recommendation from Kenrockwell's website.
Despite the pain ($$$), i finally gotten 18-200VRII within the first month after my D60 purchase.
I have not regretted it (except for the lens creep problem).
The other lens which I wouldnt give a 2nd thought is the 50 f1.8 since it is so cheap yet can produce good bokeh with a good fov focal length.
However after being a DSLR user for 8 months, i have found out my strengths, potentials, specialisation, etc, and started to realise what types of lens I need (and do not need most importantly).
It is over time, learning and experience to find out the answers to your needs, and thus, dont waste that much $$$.
Hence, patience is the key.
