simple ...

1. take a photo of the food junction
2. open in PS, duplicate the original image and desaturate it
3. go to Filter>Sketch>Stamp
4. Adjust the sliders and click OK, your image will become B/W
5. Use the magic wand, select a white patch. Then go to Select>All...you'll see that all white areas are selected.
6. Create a new layer...and fill in any colour that you like.

to all of you...

if you want to make your photo looked like VECTOR artwork...

simply open any image, do some leveling and colour tweak, then go to Filter>Artistic>Cutout ... and that's Instant VECTOR ARTWERK for you!

it's the same steps ... on diff is that...i paint areas that i wanted black and take out unwanted areas that i wanted white...it's fast and simple...frankly, that crane photo was a bad one, but it has strong graphic appeal...so i decided to do it that way.
