The "Taking photos of my child" thread

i love your shots fw :) makes me more determined to capture more pictures when i have a baby of my own ... its so nice to look back and reminisce ~ people will appreciate it when they have wedding slideshows which start from baby to adult (the growing trend), most old couples lack the childhood photos ;)

FW , U never fail to impress me ..... Wonder how u always manage to do that ....

Thanks Simon. Glad you like them :) I guess I got better kids than the others ;):bsmilie:

Thanks. Glad you like them too.

Actually we had a lot fun when the whole family were looking at these photos again last night. Pity I haven't taken enough photos of my kids in the past year ...

So cute, this must be quite some time back. Now she is so pretty already.

Thanks JK. Yes, it's long time ago when she was still cute and cooperative. Nowadays she's too naughty and uncooperative, I almost lost interest shooting at her ... :(

Must always remind myself what make me start this hobby .

You guys have lovely kids, and great photos of them!

None of my own, but I do lots of candids of my friends' and random kids out and about..

using DAL 55-300mm zoom-in.....
to avoid the quantum mechanic law that says : the observation itself disturbs the subject under observation.
with a long-lens, this would minimise the effect and allows the subject(s) doing what they are doing NATURALLY....
and hence let the pictures(s) tell a story....

Why I learn to light
To me the reason to do better in photography and learn strobing is so that loved ones get the best photos I can manage.

Jason1980, I think your Sigma needs to be re-calibrated for focus.

I did not set my AF to single point.. is that the reason for OOF?

maybe it's the moving kid plus lowlight (indoor)?
Happen alot of time to me especially with my active son who cannot stop moving.

here one better one out of many many fail one. haha

#9 Sometimes, the simplest backdrops will do fine
=====================================
Just by placing the child on a plane where they can't move 'in or out' of focus can help keep things in focus too.
Baby was obviously on the bed with nowhere to go. I simply made some 'rukus' and my daughter attracted by what might seem fun
was lured to the setup with her brother.
Baby grabbed for her hair, and I grabbed for a shot. :)
