The Seven Levels of Photographers

Seems like a lot of people in clubsnap classify as Equipment Measurbators. :D

Can someone tell me why Canon is better than Nikon? Is it the lens or system or both.

"Professionals shoot Nikon SLRs.... <blabla>
They cannot afford gear as good as most serious amateurs."

Hehehehe...

Equipment the pro uses,
are they reliable and affordable?

The Nikon surfaces to be the workhorse for the commercial
photographers who are doing an array of work from
buildings to fashion.
No one dares to challenge its reliability, affordibility and
availability throughout the world in any countries.

The Leica, though nickname “King of the 35mm camera”
is a far cry from popularity among the working pros.
They are the pride of lensmen who wants a name that is
traditional separated from the rest of the crowd.
For sure those involed in marketing the product never
have or want to price it competitively. So to speak, they
may have priced themselves out of the market.

The Hassablad is in a different class. Being the first choice
for working pros and serious amateurs the square
format has been recognized as the universal format.
With its fine optics from Carl Zeiss this is the only medium
format camera that was chosen to go to the moon to bring
back images of the other planets in outer space.

Watching and retelling the digital story, it is good to note
that one manufacturer who does almost everything from
copiers to scanners is making headway with its research
program - to produce digital cameras with quality lenses,
competitively priced, more usable features in a user
friendly environment.. Guess some of you already got
the answer. I will leave the rest for other forum members
to chip in.

:dunno:

heh nikon makes optical stuff like spectacles too...
Canon is more tech oriented, using features and specs to position itself, ala Sony.
Nikon is slightly behind in tech but has an entrenched user base and established quality.
Leica is like a antique european car... no hifi no aircon but in a class of its own...
hasselblad is like a dying antique european car coy currently catching up with technology. Chrysler?
nikon and canon are like toyota and nissan... u have ur own prefs...

o dear ....i am in level 3 & 6......and i use nikon for 135.....mamiya , pentax and Hassablad for 120........:)

Huh? It's definitely not antique, and they just recently announced a new model. It's a toally different class and being a medium format camera, beats the crap out of any Leica, Nikon, Canon, or watever.

LOL didn't I say catching up with technology? they have abandoned their leica attitude and have started to aggressively follow the rest in making newer style bodies?
LOL I thought Chrysler was a good example of a comeback car coy...
