The rate of MRT breakdowns is getting ridiculous

Twice in one day - both during peak hours?

And they say "car is a privilege", "improving productivity is most important", and let's not forget "world class transport".

We ain't paying enough.

It is all your fault. If you have allowed fare increase then no more breakdown. Save on maintenance so that share holders can have higher dividends

How many years since Shopping Auntie quit? Even now you are paying her incompetence. At the end of the day how many man-hours wasted? :bsmilie::bsmilie:
And also, who was the incompetent twit who put her in charge? :bsmilie:

I never hear "world-class transport" alr these days...

She left the company that took her in after leaving SMRT... I like the comments of some of the viewers

And these articles could explained why Maintenance is low in priority... Based on published info

The MRT was design to handle 2.5 millions people and not 2.62 millions :bsmilie:

Recently, a news article said MRT ridership grew by 3.9 percent to 2.62 million daily

When ridership increase, breakdown will increase :bsmilie:

Well the economist call Singapore transport 3x more expensive than NYC
not sure whether its the public transport or private (owning car)

Waiting to see who harakiri. Funny when the establishment screws up and there is very little chatter about harakiri.

No one does that. It's not our culture.

Instead : Take Cover, or Throw Smoke, or Shoot Arrow

Isn't it time(again) someone took out his katana and cut his guts out?

Let's change SMTR corporate ID to this: :)

Likewise our platform and stations are done without planning.

Have you guys witness the MRT jam at Stadium after an event? Only retarded folks design stations so small that required us to queue 300m to enter it and they got to stop escalators in order to prevent stampede.

Likewise most of the stations and the platforms are way too small to handle crowds.

The reason why Stadium station was not designed for larger capacity is because it doesn't handle large capacity on a daily basis. Building it too large and leaving it empty most of the time will invite the "white elephant" comments.

We shouldn't complain about such things. Cos we must compare ourselves with the 3rd world countries and realize Singapore is very good already. For eg, if you look at India, people often climb onto the trains dangerously for lack of space. So our train breakdowns are nothing in comparison. Singaporeans just like to complain.

We also must blame ourselves. If we want more comfort, as someone recently said, buy a car! If cannot afford it, blame ourselves again. Why aren't we rich enough to afford a car? It means we are not financially capable. We must improve and upgrade ourselves to earn more money. Foreigners who come here work hard. They don't complain. Singaporeans only know how to make noise, as I frequently read.

Or better still, why not we all obediently listen to Khaw Boon Wan? He is a well-respected man in the government. He said we should try to cycle to work. Very fashionable. Many in big European cities cycle.

What do you think? :)

Since you asked. I think it's hogwash.

The problem is Singapore people don't like to listen to Khaw Boon Wan.

They only like to complain to Khaw Boon Wan. :)
