Hi all, I took this last evening - my mom's gardening endeavours finally bore fruit! Anyway, I was wondering if the unfocused stick-thing on the right - would it be better if it was in focus, like the rest? Would that make a better composition?

Any comments are greatly appreciated!

dof too shallow.

decide where you want to focus. so that focus our attention. :)

Wouldn't it be better to show the entire flower instead of a small part of it? This does not show how well the flower had blosom and grow, thus, unable to appreciate how much work your mum had put in to have this flower blosom beautifully.

Can elaborate why the title is "The odd one out" ?

i think its refering to the out of focused part (whatever u call that thingy) among the rest

Thanks for all your comments! I took this because I wanted to try out the super-macro mode of my camera to see if i can really put the lens so near to the subject. Avrider is right - I should deliberate think of a focus instead. :)
