Why Nikkor Z 24 / 35/ 85 mm f/0.95 S Noct ?
Simple, because f/0.95 lens goal is to beat the Zeiss Otus performance !

Lensvid interviewed Dirk Jaspar from Nikon at Photokina:
– The goal for the f/0.95 lens is to have maximum quality. That’s why it doens’t have autofocus.
– The f/0.95 will hopefully beat the Zeiss Otus in terms of Image Quality

A manual focus lens is hard to use even at 50/2.8, and will likely be a white elephant....
Seriously, what will be the percentage of keepers shot at F0.95?
2%? Even with a dedicated manual focus screen....
