Let's not forget this when watching the results. These consumer cameras are going against equipment specifically designed for the purpose of taking 35mm videos. Especially the points about compression and the results from the various cameras make that very clear. If the DSLR could deliver uncompressed video data I'm sure they would deliver better results. But then: which consumer wants to pay the extra costs for these interfaces? Not forgetting the required equipment to process the data (processing power, storage capacity).
But on the other hand: these videos contain a lot of valuable factual knowledge and watching the comparison teaches to look for those details they are evaluating.
