Try to catch this documentary movie. It has won the BAFTA Award. It has been nominated for the Oscar.
Maybe someone will upload on Youtube.
Or eventually they will show on History Channel.

It is about the massacre from 1965 to 1966. About 500,000 to 1 Million killed, mostly Chinese.
At that time Indonesia under Sukarno was greatly influenced by communist doctrine.
USA was worried about SEA becoming a communist block.

Regime change. Did not hear USA protesting loudly about the killings.
USA subsequently gave billions in aid and military assistance to new Suharto regime.
That's the real world. These things happen. Anyway it is history by now.

The regime change is secretly organize by CIA. Suharto is the one chosen to steer indonesia towards pro US.
During the cold war, US will provide support to any country that is anti communist. Sukarno is communist, so they want to dispose of him.

United States (US)' imperialistic foreign policies through the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has a penchant for grooming and financing freedom fighters though with a tendency to leave them hanging for dead just right at the crucial moment in the decisive junction of a resistance movement when support is needed the most. No surprise many of this abandoned freedom fighters will later turn around and screw Uncle Sam's a** from the behind when they took control through their own efforts after a revolution and became dictators themselves after.

Anyway during the late '50s CIA Technical Services Staff (TSS) was attempting to develop an inflatable powered aircraft stored in a backpack [01] [02] and air dropped clandestinely into Indonesia for extracting Civil Air Transport (CAT) / Special Activities Division (SAD) asset, pilot "Allen Pope" held captive under house arrest. Ultimately a covet naval submarine with special operations (spec ops) forces was sent and used for the extraction instead.

History is perspectives.
Is the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki considered crime against humanity?
Well, to the Americans and the allies, they are the hero. To others, they may be no different from Murderers!

Whatever works to stop the greater evil, it was totally necessary.

It's the debate between two evils

If the atomic bombs didn't drop, u think u can sit here typing in English and enjoy national day parade? I think u were still swimming in your father's sperm when WWII happened

Japan is already losing the war before the atom bomb drop. US does not want to invade main island of Japan to prevent more casualties to their troops so they drop the bomb to end it ASAP. Others said that they drop the bomb to test the power of the new weapon and to show the world what they are capable of.

All the above reasons are valid, plus towards the end of WW2, the red army have become too powerful. It also serve as warning to Stalin to behave himself after the war end.

Japan, even until today, still has a very closed mindset. They still not English proficient and economy not open.

Jap companies are still in their little well with their old fashioned jap culture, while their neighbors, South Korea, China and HK has overtaken them in leaps and bounds

Personally, I'm glad the A bombs were dropped......

The A bomb also save jap lives by ending the war sooner. The reason why it last longer than Europe is because they don't want to admit defeat.

this world is like that...
the "good guys" will hv all the good reasons/justifications of doing all the atrocious acts,
and the bad guys will always get the blames no matter what they do, good or bad.

here too in CS, the "good guys" can say whatever they wish, but when the "bad guys" say something, they will be labelled as trolls. LOL

there should be a documentary on "The Act of Trolling". LOL

to add to that, 1 bomb would have been sufficient to lead to japan's surrender. but they dropped the other, to do testing of design, on live humans. if you guys check it out, both bombs are of different design, though both are nuclear.
