Hi all brothers,

SMU is looking for photographers to have a TFCD session for pictures for a bash at MOS.
And they will foot the cost of the venue, lightings and models.

What SMU needs is photographers, able to provide photos of a considerable size.
(Approximately 35" x 48" or mid-human sized? Smaller also can)

Date is 22th Jan Sunday
Dateline is quite tight so I hope some of the seniors and enthusiasts here can help.

Reason why can't we pay is the tight budget we have.:embrass:
After all, it's a student led event with little to no external financing =/

We would be happy with a few photographers taking pictures on that day.
Can brothers here help? Myself, I'm definitely not good enough.
Will be there that day as a assistant, backup or something.

email me at alchia@gmail.com
So sorry for a last minute thing like this.:embrass:

Thanks a lot all. =)

I should be able to do it on Sunday since I work around the area, just drop me a ring at 98388859. Have a few friends in SMU so don't mind helping out. :)

Timing? What sort of lighting is provided?

Hi, im still pretty much a newbie, But i've got some experience in gaffering for films and stuff. WOuld you mind if i shot as well? =) looking to gain more experience from the ShiFus here.

I using coolpix 3700 can qualify to shoot?

@ 120 DPI -> 35*120 x 48*120 = 24MP

@ 72 DPI -> 35*72 x 48*72 = 8.7MP

Wow thanks for all the reply!!

Was hoping that I won't get scolded for such a request :embrass:

Lightings I'm not too sure of.

Timing is about 5-6pm.

At SMU.

2MP also can, but the output won't be decent, get it? 72DPI is already pushing it :)

Just to clarify ...

you want us to shoot at MOS where the lighting is uncontrollable ? or shoot the gals at SMU with provided studio lights? somehow, this seems like a SMU pageant thingy and ur looking for *sigh* free *sigh* photographers ?

At SMU, not MOS.
It's not a pageant. It's for the marketing.

And yes, I am humbled that we have to look for free photographers.
(being such a rich school and all, as described on the papers)
However, it's a student led event and we truly have no budget for paid help.

Therefore when they tasked me to help, it was either we shoot ourselves or seek for help.
I decide to seek for help here. And I'm truly and sincerely grateful for all the saints who volunteered.

Please forgive me if I'm breaking any code or conduct here.
I truly do not mean to do so. :embrass:

hmm,... for the size of the prints...looking along the dslr lines..... u are prob looking at someone wif an s3pro to interpolate his files .... or prob someone with a 1dsmk2 camera... hahaha ....

Ooops, maybe I'm asking for too much?

I guess a 8mb camera will suffice...
We probably will print around half a human height..
That's around 18" x 24" perhaps?

Think we are in no position to bargain for good equipment or outstanding portfolios here.
Would be really grateful for any help provided.

Meanwhile, a lot of brothers here have replied.
I'm sorry to say that I can't promise everyone as it would be a overcrowding of photographers.
Will do the best I can.

Nevertheless, I'm really touched by all the help given forward.
Thank you all.
Will be emailing you guys soon.

in that case, y dun you shoot them irregardless of outcome since it is a FREE job in the first place, the satisfaction would be great compared to asking someone else to do it. Anyway, your requirement would probably require some serious equipment, which most would not have. Of cos, we have RICH hobbyists and serious PRO but they arent FREE or Cheap.

Dun flame me hor..just thinking out loud :sticktong

i think most common dslr (6mp) raw file can accomodate till that size.
i printed full size body once from raw 6mp dslr.
well, its not really pixelated however if u print that big, i dont think u would need see the detail very detail...

cheers might help

Maybe I phrased it badly.
We probably do not really 'require' anything except well-taken pictures.
("Well-taken" does not mean award winning or anything.. just normal nicely taken pictures)

I will be shooting them as well but I'm quite confident that I'll not do a good job because of my experience. (or lack of it)
Satisfaction would be wonderful for me
I'll gain experience, exposure etc...
but I guess the marketing crew's lives would be at stake :bsmilie:
(In short, the objective of the shoot should overwhelm my enthusiasm and ambitions)

What AhV said has his points too. So if most of you guys feel that way, I'll take down this request.

Thanks everyone for volunteering.
I'll still email you all if you are interested.

Thanks a lot. =)

(Thread will close by 3 pm today)

P.S: Not close it immediately because I sincerely cherish everyone's opinions.
Don't want to make it seem like I'm stopping people from their views yeah? =)
