SINGAPORE : Negotiations to build the new Sports Hub are in their final stages.
The Singapore Sports Council (SSC) told MediaCorp that construction will begin immediately once the talks are completed, and the construction timeline will be revealed after that.
The work includes tearing down the National Stadium.
The ground has already been prepared, with the grass pitch stripped bare last month.
The turf has been transplanted to other fields under the Sports Council such as the Kallang Practice Track .
The Sports Hub consortium is in charge of the demolition and construction work.
After repeated delays, the Hub is slated to be ready by late 2013 or early 2014.
