Odd - I received a letter that says I need not file in a return if my 2005 income was below $22K, but on the IRAS website, it says the same but only if below S$26K. Then another page on the IRAS site says below $22K again. What is the exact figure anyone?

No Return Required Notification Letter
For an NRIC-holder earning $26,000 or less in 2004, you will receive a letter telling you that you need not file a return this year. If your gross earnings in 2005 exceeds $26,000, please e-file using your existing IRAS PIN or SingPass. Alternatively, you may call 1800-356 8300 to request for a Form B1.

1. Do I have to file an income tax form this year?
You will need to file an income tax form so long as an income tax form/IRAS PIN letter (Electronic Filing letter) has been sent to you.
However, if you did not receive an income tax form/IRAS PIN letter (Electronic Filing letter) and your annual income in Singapore in the year 2005 is $22,000 or more, please call our Taxpayers Services Helpline at 1800-356 8300 during office hour for assistance.
