October 2008 Outings

Fantasia Malaysia 1 - Muar N Malacca

Date : 18th to 19th Oct 2008 (Sat N Sun)
Time : Depart @ 5am on Sat and Arrive around 10pm on Sun

Objective : Enjoy good food, photography shoot, gathering, scenery and have a feel of the small towns.
What to expect : Scenery, Wildlife, Birding, Nature, Abstract, Landscape, Candid, Portraits, Historical, IR, HDR, Night Street, Food.
What lens to bring : Lens that can shoot the above.
Type of Food : Seafood, Paranakan, Portugese, Local Delights, Desserts, Famous Delicacies.

Suggested Accommodation (Kindly vote for the hotels that you like to stay. Can be all if you like) :

02. Malacca Straits Hotel Comfy, 3 Star Hotel. Nice N new. Good to stay over N huge room.
03. Mahkota Hotel Chalet Apartment, 3 Star Hotel. Nice N good for big group staying together. Facility abit old.
04. A'Famosa Resort Bungalow, 5 Star Resort. Villa style bungalow with private swimming pool N BBQ. Far from town, 40mins from town.
05. Hotel Equatorial Luxury, 5 Star Hotel. Nice but pricy.
06. Holiday Inn Comfy, 5 Star Hotel. Beside Mahkota Hotel, open in late 2007. Nice N pricy.
07. Aldy Hotel Heritage, 3 Star Hotel. Nice, cheap and right in the center of town. North: A'Famosa Fort N Museum, East: Chinatown N Jonker Walk, West: Shopping Mall N Museum, South: Mahkota Parade N Museum.
08. The Legacy Hotel Comfy, 5 Star Hotel (With Rumour Of Ghostly Encounter) Nice and good but 5mins away from Jonker Walk.
09. Everly Resort Hotel Chalet Apartment, 4 Star Resort. Cosy along the beach but 20mins away from town.
10. Majestic Hotel Luxury Heritage, 5 Star Hotel. Nice, good but expensive.


*** In order not to overload the car as all of us will be equipment for the shoot, we'll limit 2 passenger with 1 driver per car for a normal 4 seater car. For MPV, will be 4 passenger with 1 driver per car for 7 seater car.

Details and itinerary will be announce closer to the date. Budget depends on the hotels that we book. Will either be 3-4 person in a room for hotels, apartments will most probably include everyone.

Estimate cost range from S$60 to S$120 per person for transport and accommodation. This is an estimate only. Cost may increase abit due to the petrol price adjustment in Malaysia. RM2.70/L and estimate of 80L require per car.

Hello to all those firers on 22 and 23 for fireworks, as the display is approaching, kindly please vote amongst the 4 suggested place. Eg: If location at Boat Quay appears "Boat Quay - 2" please change the 2 to 3 if you are voting for Boat Quay. Vote ending on Wednesday night 2359hrs.

Annual Fireworks Display at Marina Bay

Date: 22 & 23 August 2008
Time: Meet about 5.30-6pm (if want "Chop place", can meet up early.)
Location: Vote for locations

SolBadGuy - I thought some time back, somebody mentioned Tanjong Rhu no more access alr? I'm not sure how true though. You guys might want to check it out if shooting there.

SolBadGuy - I thought some time back, somebody mentioned Tanjong Rhu no more access alr? I'm not sure how true though. You guys might want to check it out if shooting there.

tg rhu has access, but buildings will block the fireworks if it is low ones. marina east has no access BUT.... will need to climb over railings to get pass it. has a nice view of the entire flyer and the fireworks.

Been there done that for New Year Outing. some of the personals here knows the way. :)
BTW, those with tickets for Fire Festival on Friday. See you inside. ;)
And for those who want to shoot on Saturday Fire Festival. Please let me know, I maybe can find a way to allow 1 or 2 personals to go in and shoot for something in return. :bsmilie:
