Could need some advice on how to take a nice balance photo with a dark tan skin face and a fair skin person together ...

Tried and tried ...

Hard to find a balance spot exposure so that both faces look balanced.

Will a gold/silver reflector help or use Photoshop to correct ...... ?

1. A few ways, first use a 18% gray card and ask one of the person to hold it. meter on the gray card.

2. Use an incident light meter and meter the ambient light at the face.

Those will give you the best and most accurate metering.
